Why I Started
I wanted ownership. I spent years building a career in cybersecurity, most recently in the information security department at Major League Baseball, and I wanted to take those skills and pour them into something that was actually mine. Not a slide deck. A real business, on real water, with real people.
The truth is I love this. The thrill, the adventure, the community that comes with the water. Meeting new people, handing someone the keys to their first ride, watching them come back to the dock grinning like a kid. That feeling is the whole reason I do it.
This year was the hardest of my life. I have been on the job market since October. The season before, I had sold my jet skis, and when customers kept asking to ride, I made a decision: I spent my last dollar on one ski, worked it until it paid for the next one, and went all the way in. I built this whole thing myself. The website, the software, the process, the safety standards, all of it from scratch. I learned from my mistakes and I grew from them.
Here is what I believe: it is not about what happens to you, it is about how you respond. This business is my response. My goal is simple. Give the 845 the best day on the water it has ever had this summer, because I know something that took me a long time to learn. Giving people moments that turn into memories is more powerful than any amount of money.
